No political office is more powerful than the President of the United States. In this engaging camp, you can research your favorite President and understand their impact on the country. You will select a topic related to your chosen President and create a fact sheet and presentation, focusing on how you can use this knowledge to advocate for change in your community. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you will travel to Washington, D.C., via the Metro to explore significant areas of the city influenced by the executive office. Potential field trip locations may include the White House and relevant sections of the Smithsonian American History Museum. Please note that field trip locations may change based on museum and building closures. This camp session has been approved by MCPS for 10 Student Service Learning (SSL) hours, giving you a valuable opportunity to engage with history while earning service credits! Join us in partnership with Milner Educational Consulting and participate in this exciting journey through American history!
