Take your interior design skills to the next level in this full-day, hands-on camp! You’ll dive deep into the art and science of designing kitchens and baths that balance style, function, and accessibility. Explore cutting-edge design trends, master ADA-compliant layouts, and bring your vision to life using 3D modeling, and handcrafted custom furniture models. Working in teams, you’ll take on a meaningful service-learning project: redesigning a kitchen or bath space to meet the needs of a family or community group, with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility. Along the way, you’ll sketch, draft, and build both digital and physical prototypes, sharpening your problem-solving and presentation skills. By the end of the week, you’ll showcase your professional design proposal—including custom furniture models—and reflect on how your work can improve everyday lives. Earn 10 MCPS-approved Student Service Learning (SSL) hours while exploring the world of interior design in this unique studio experience. Some design experience is helpful but not required.
