Effective October 1, 2020, Maryland House Bill 111 (HBI111) mandates that all new Special Police Officer (SPO) applicants complete a minimum of 80 hours of training, including the successful completion of 76 core objectives, prior to application for an SPO commission. This course meets all state-mandated requirements.
