AP Institute English Language and Composition

The College Board-endorsed AP Summer Institute course in AP English Language and Composition provides new and experienced teachers with in-depth training, professional development, and teaching strategies. This course provides deeper insight into the following key takeaways: Understand the Course; Plan the Course; Teach the Course; Assess Student Progress; and Engage as a Member of the AP Community. In addition, specific attention will be paid to the following AP Classroom resources: unit guides, personal progress checks, AP teacher community, and the AP question bank. Participants engage in 30 hours of pedagogical and content rich training led by College Board-endorsed consultants; receive printed materials, including course outlines; content -related handouts; and student samples, scoring guidelines, and commentary for the most recent AP English Language and Composition Exam free-response questions. Certificates of Successful Completion and three (3) Continuing Education Units (CEU) provided at the conclusion of the institute; 30-hour attendance is required to earn the maximum number of CEUs.
