« back to classes page
From the Underground Railroad and other routes out of slavery to Allied airmen tunneling out of wartime camps and families risking everything to cross the Berlin Wall, escape stories have gripped listeners for generations. This course looks at daring breakouts and escapes across modern history. We’ll focus on planning, improvisation, and the friends and strangers who made these journeys possible. Along the way, we’ll also see how books, films, and documentaries turned real escapes into some of our most enduring stories of courage and risk.
