Ever wonder how nuclear reactors work? What are the safety systems? How are nuclear sites cleaned up after they permanently shut down? Answers to these questions and more will be answered here! This course is for those with little to no knowledge of nuclear energy and will cover the fundamentals - including radiation basics, the mining and enrichment of uranium, the fabrication of nuclear fuel, the main types of commercial nuclear reactors, and how they generate electricity.  You will also learn about safety systems in a nuclear power plant, the role and activities of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, major accidents, and the future of nuclear energy.
