Ever wondered why the forecast changes just when you’ve made plans? Curious about what really goes into predicting storms, snow, or sunshine? This course is designed for anyone without a scientific background who wants to better understand our wild and wonderful weather! Learn the basic processes behind weather systems and understand factors that need to be taken into account when making weather forecasts. Look at some of the kinds of “extreme” weather that occur in our region and learn the differences between “watches” and “warnings”. Have a meteorologist explain how they prepare a weather forecast and why forecasts change as the weather patterns get closer. Come find out how cool the study of meteorology actually is!
