Introduction to Piedmont Blues Harmonica

“Piedmont” blues is the funky, syncopated acoustic blues style of the US East Coast and includes players such as Sonny Terry, Brownie McGee, John Cephas, Phil Wiggins, and others. This course for beginner to advanced-beginner harmonica players introduces basic elements of Piedmont blues harmonica, including breath control, mouth position, rhythmic techniques, and some single-note skills. Bonus: this course will run concurrently with a Piedmont Blues Guitar class, and the two classes will share time to jam! To participate in this course, students need to have their own diatonic (10-hole) harmonica in the key of F.
