The ACET edTPA and Internship Seminar supports teacher candidates during their clinical internship and the completion of the Educative Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA). Through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences, candidates engage in portfolio development, reflective practice, professional collaboration, and evidence-based analysis of teaching and learning. The seminar provides structured support for planning, instruction, assessment, academic language, and professional reflection while helping candidates navigate the responsibilities and challenges of clinical practice. Candidates develop instructional plans, analyze video evidence and student work, evaluate their teaching effectiveness, and apply feedback to strengthen their practice. The course culminates in the development of a submission-ready edTPA portfolio and a reflection on professional growth as an educator. Through integration of clinical experiences and performance assessment, candidates demonstrate competencies aligned with edTPA requirements, Maryland educator preparation expectations, and the InTASC Standards for beginning teachers. The course emphasizes milestone-based progress, reflective teaching, professional responsibility, and successful completion of internship and portfolio requirements. Registration restricted to ACET candidates.
