Spanish in Our Community/Español en Nuestra Comunidad (9 weeks)

New Content! Conducted entirely in Spanish, this class is intended for intermediate to advanced level students, and connects them with the vibrant and diverse Hispanic community in the Washington, DC metro area. Using local Hispanic media, cultural calendars and news in Spanish, students discuss a wide variety of topics and current events. Each week invited guests from the Hispanic community share their immigration stories and engage in a robust conversation about identity, culture, and language. Activities are supplemented with reading, writing, and grammar exercises. While conducted on Zoom, the class also includes scheduled field trips to locations with close ties to the Hispanic community. Please check the MC Bookstore for details regarding textbooks.
