Get ready to bring your creativity to life in our Summer Sewing Workshop! In this fun, hands-on class, students will learn how to use basic sewing tools and practice essential stitches like the running stitch, slip stitch, and backstitch. You’ll master how to tie knots like a pro, read simple sewing patterns, and measure and cut fabric with confidence. Then, you’ll take your skills to the next level by learning how to safely operate a sewing machine. Once you’ve learned the basics, you’ll use the sewing machine to assemble your very own project—choosing from a cozy reading pillow, a stylish apron, or a trendy mod messenger bag. This class is perfect for beginners who love crafts, fashion, or just want to learn something new. By the end, you’ll have a completed project to take home and the skills to start designing and sewing your own creations! Instructor: Schauntell Green, MCPS teacher.
