Explore the expressiveness of ink as a drawing medium. The permanence of the inked mark encourages both decisiveness and experimentation and is a completely different experience than drawing in erasable media! Engage with a medium employed by artists from DaVinci to Ralph Steadman to Katsushika Hokusai, using both observation and imagination for inspiration. Draw using felt-tip pens, dip pens, and brushes for different effects. Practice the visual communication methods of the ink artist, like line weight, hatching and cross-hatching, and ink washes. Open to students of all levels.
