Learn to fabricate closures for necklaces and bracelets. The clasp is not only essential to a piece of jewelry's function, it is also an important visual element that can enhance the uniqueness of your jewelry designs.  Create unique closures beginning with simple wire clasps and building to complex soldered clasps with fitted components and moving parts. Prerequisite: ability to solder and saw unassisted; can be learned in ADS595 Jewelry & Metalsmithing: Fundamentals, ARTT245/ART060 Jewelry & Metalsmithing, or ARTT123/ART082 Crafts with a metals focus.
