Learn chair caning and restore older chairs to usefulness and beauty. Caning uses wood strips to weave part of a chair, often on the seat or back. Starting with an empty wooden frame, prep cane strips, weave, and bind a strong cane feature. Stain your finished product any color from pale blond to deep walnut or black. Learn to handle cane, manage breaks and splits, and spot common problems. By the end of class, you will be able to cane chair seats that are square, round, or anything in between. Open to students of all levels.
