Course number : ADS616    ID : 25340    Class Section Number : 1

« back to classes page
Develop engaging surfaces for your jewelry and metalwork. Employ heat, pressure, chemicals, and hand tools to create a look that is dramatically different from the boring sheet you purchased! Explore techniques such as fusing, reticulation, Keum-boo, chasing, etching, and patinas. Use your manipulated silver surfaces in creative jewelry or small metal designs. NOTE: Due to the chemical processes employed in these techniques, all work will be done in sterling, 80/20 alloy & fine silver sheets—no base metal substitutes can be used. Prerequisite: ability to solder and saw unassisted; can be learned in ADS595 Jewelry & Metalsmithing: Fundamentals, ARTT245/ART060 Jewelry & Metalsmithing, or ARTT123/ART082 Crafts with a metals focus.
