Making Exhibitions introduces students to the creative and practical processes involved in developing, curating, and installing exhibitions. Through hands-on projects and collaborative experiences, students will explore curatorial research, artwork selection, exhibition planning, spatial organization, installation, interpretation, and audience engagement, while considering how exhibition design and context shape the experience of art. Emphasizing experimentation, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving, the course guides students through the process of transforming ideas into thoughtfully considered exhibition environments. The course culminates in the Community Arts Student Exhibition (CASE), a public exhibition in which students apply their skills and knowledge to collaboratively develop, install, and present an exhibition for a broader community audience.
