Get ready to dig in! In this gardening class, students will explore the science behind how plants grow and thrive. You will learn about topics such as the parts of a plant, the plant life cycle, ecosystems, and how weather and climate change can affect growth. You will also explore the importance of native plants and learn about gardening tools and techniques that help plants thrive. Early in the semester, you will plant seeds and care for your own growing plant. Throughout the course, you will observe and record its progress, learning how to collect data and create a simple growth graph. You will also get creative by painting your own flower pot to take home at the end of the semester. Whether you are new to gardening or already love being outdoors, this class will help you grow your knowledge—one leaf at a time!
