Get ready to build useful computer skills! In this hands-on course, you will practice using essential computer programs, explore safe ways to use the internet, and learn how to communicate online with confidence. Each week, you will learn and practice skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and the very basics of Excel. You will create and save documents, design simple presentations, and learn how to organize information using spreadsheets. You will also learn how to write polite, professional emails and begin developing a resume that highlights your strengths. Staying safe online will be a key part of the class. You will explore how to protect personal information, make good choices on the internet, and talk about the role of social media and how to use it responsibly. Classes will include step-by-step instruction, practice time in the computer lab, videos, and worksheets to support learning.
