Learn foundational skills for piano that can be applied as a hobbyist, musician, or educator. Practice playing with both hands while learning chords, scales, and cadences. Develop a basic ability to read music on the bass and treble clef, including notes, rhythms, legato and staccato, dynamics, slurs, and ties. Build a repertoire of elementary piano pieces. Apply these skills to play melodies and accompaniments that can be performed solo or in a musical group. This course is designed for beginning musicians and those new to piano.
