Let’s spice things up in the Kitchen with your friends! Join us and learn how to follow recipes, measure, chop, and combine ingredients, all while experiencing the use of different kitchen tools. You will learn to use the stove, oven, and microwave. Recipes will cover foods from appetizers to desserts so that you can sample a variety of tastes. Classes will be hands-on. You will learn about specific kitchen utensils and how to use them, for example, names of measuring cups/spoons, use of knives, peelers, and mixers. Safety of kitchen utensils and equipment will be emphasized in addition; you will learn about safety in the kitchen and healthy cooking to encourage independence. You will learn how to read, follow a recipe, and then complete the recipe. Recipe books will be given to each student.Do you know what people in Israel eat for breakfast? Did you know in Norway that setting food on fire is actually an ancient tradition? You learn a lot about a culture by how and what people eat. Join us and let your appetite and curiosity run wild while we prepare delicious food from many lands. You will discover new things about each culture. You will also explore the science of cooking in these countries from what searing does to meat and how wood smoking changes more than just the taste. You will also learn valuable culinary skills, and experience new foods. Grab those aprons!
