College Apps 101: The DMV College Tour

Choosing a college is a big decision, and there’s nothing quite like visiting a campus to get a real feel for the school. In this course, you'll learn about the college application process, understand the timeline, and explore colleges across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia through guided tours each day. Get ready to gain valuable insights to help you make informed decisions about your future education. You'll also dive into college and career coaching, where you'll actively advise your peers about the application process and how to pay for college. As part of this program, you'll prepare a College Dossier to share with others, helping boost college awareness among students thinking about post-secondary education by 10th grade. Once you've completed your college visits, you’ll present your findings to your peers. By the end of the week, you'll have visited at least five public and private campuses, giving you first-hand experience to build your presentation. MCPS has approved this camp for 10 Student Service Learning (SSL) hours, so it’s a fantastic opportunity to earn hours while preparing for your future.
