Are you curious about the terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems in our own backyards? In this camp, you will get out in the environment to evaluate the health of the biota surrounding Montgomery College. You will explore the reasons for biodiversity loss, particularly when it pertains to pollution and invasive species in our area. How do invasive species in our area impact our community both economically and environmentally? You will research an endangered species, and create an informational poster or pamphlet.  You will also learn how to advocate locally, and write a letter to your political representative about one aspect of biodiversity loss in our area. MCPS has approved this camp session for 10 Student Service Learning (SSL) hours. Instructor: Leah Bierly, MCPS teacher
