Together, we will uncover the powerful stories of Americans who fought to achieve and protect the civil rights of Americans. Come learn about the fight for civil rights in Montgomery County, Washington, D.C., and other areas throughout the United States. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you will travel to Washington DC via the metro to explore relevant Civil Rights locations. The field trip locations may include the National Museum of African American History and Culture and relevant portions of the Smithsonian American History Museum. Get ready to explore the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement! You will pick one topic of interest and create a fact sheet and presentation, focusing on how you can use this idea to advocate for change in your community.
